It may be coincidence, but maybe not. It’s definitely not an April’s Fool tale.

A woman advised Eunice police on Thursday afternoon she had a 15-feet-long reticulated python in a shed behind her house.

So far, so good, thought the dispatcher.

But, she said, she had not seen the snake for about four weeks.

Uh, oh.

An hour or so later, police received a complaint about a dog being stolen on Acadia Street.

There was some speculation, quickly quashed, that the dog could have met the aforementioned python.

The two residences are not that close together, but are relative near each other as the crow flies - or snake slithers.

Anyhow, citizens frequenting the vicinity around Juanita are asked to be on the look out for a serpent that appears to be lost, or may just be out taking advantage of spring weather.

Reports that it was seen headed toward the legislative session turned out to be unfounded

Repeat -- this is NOT an April Fool’s joke.
