Eby Doucet of Rayne was honored on Sunday, March 13, 2011 during a birthday party held in observance of his 90th birthday. His actual date of birth is March 10, 1921.

The mid-day celebration was held at the home of one of his grandchildren, Matt Doucet and his wife, Margaret of Roberts Cove.

Hosting the special event were the children from the union of Mr. Doucet and his late wife, Lillian R. Doucet, including Marlene Doucet Thibodeaux of Rayne, Patsy Doucet Comeaux of Rayne, Micael Doucet of Carencro, Aubrey Doucet of Scott, Jimmy Doucet of Rayne and Malclom Doucet of Rayne.

Approximately 60 family members and friends were in attendance for the special event, including his surviving sister, Eula Mae Doucet Leger, and a brother-in-law, Vorice Miller.

Guests were served a jambalaya dinner with all the trimmings, including a delicious birthday cake provided by Patricia Doucet.
