DUSON – Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at 1:00 p.m.  in the Chapel of Duhon Funeral in Rayne, for Sylvia Bodin Doty, 62, who passed away peacefully on Monday, April 18, 2011 at Regional Medical Center of Acadiana in Lafayette. Reverend Thomas Voorhies, Pastor of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Scott, will be the Celebrant of the services. Gift bearer will be Jacob Domingue. Survivors include her beloved husband, Patrick Doty; one daughter, Trisha Carroll and her husband Kelly; two sons, Allan Benoit and Troy Benoit and his wife Nicole; ten grandchildren, Cameron Young, Tyler Young, Erin Young, Shannon Benoit, Allan "AJ" Benoit, Sarah Benoit, Janna Benoit, Casey Carroll, Kali Carroll and Jacob Carroll; mother, Daisy Bodin; four sisters, Shirley LeBlanc, Sally Grossie, Priscilla Campbell and Pam Domingue; one brother, Rodney Bodin; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Eddie Bodin, her 1st husband Roy Benoit and one sister, Sandra Bodin.

A lifelong resident of Lafayette, Sylvia Doty worked as a waitress at Lagneaux's for 19 years and at Ryan's for over 8 years. She was an avid bingo player and loved cooking and traveling. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her.

 

The family requests that visitation be observed in Duhon Funeral Home in Rayne on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.


Burial will be held in the St. Theresa Catholic Cemetery in Duson
