Funeral services will be held Thursday April 21, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pentecostals of Crowley Church, for James David Sarver 71, who died Tuesday April 19, 2011 at University Medical Center in Lafayette.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years Dorothy M. Sarver of Crowley; his daughter Jacqueline S. Sonnier of Crowley; two sons Ronald Menard of Mire and Jonathan Dale Sarver and his wife Michelle of Crowley; three brothers Marvin Sarver and Michael Sarver both of Crowley, and Robert Sarver of Texas City Texas; two sisters Betty S. Mouton and Margie S. Benoit both of Crowley.

Mr. Sarver was also survived by his three grandsons Kollin Menard, Spencer Sarver, and Julian Sonnier; one granddaughter Kaitlyn Sarver; one honorary granddaughter Kandi M. Mullen and her husband Brain of Goose Creek SC, and two honorary great grandchildren Kyleigh Mullen and her expected brother Kyle.

Mr. Sarver was preceded in death by a son James Daniel Sarver; a granddaughter Nylah Danielle Sonnier; his parents Veranas and Ella Faulk Sarver; and two sisters Loretta S. Mire and Linda S. LeJeune.

Pallbearers will be his sons Ronnie Menard, Dale Sarver, son-in-law Ricky Sonnier, Nephews Chris Sarver, Greg Benoit, and Wilson Istre, serving as honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren Kollin, Spencer, Julian, and Kaitlyn.

Devoted to his work Mr. Sarver recently retired as an employee of Bobby Dupre of Opelousas where he was employed for 25 years.

Visitation will be held Wednesday April 20, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel, and Thursday April 21, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until time of Services at the Pentecostals of Crowley Church.

Burial will be held in the Acadia Resthaven Cemetery under the direction of Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley.
