Funeral services will be held Saturday April 23, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Park Church of Christ in Crowley, for Frank Spell Jr., 86, who died Wednesday April 20, 2011 at the Crowley American Legion Hospital.
Survivors include his wife Ruby Hoffpauir Spell of Indian Bayou; two daughters Debbie and her husband Douglas Bealer of Indian Bayou, and Kimberly and her husband Danny McFarland of Duncan Oklahoma; his two grandchildren Ashley Nicole Bealer of Indian Bayou and Andrew Linden McFarland of Duncan Oklahoma.
Mr. Frank was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Mary Breaux Spell Sr.; his five brothers Tracy “Coon”, Earl, Merle, Edwin, and Wilfred Spell; his four sisters Rose Foreman, Anez Hoffpauir, Ruth Spell, and Maureen Broussard.
He and his loving wife were foster parents for many years; he was a radar operator during WW II, a police juror for Vermilion parish, and a member of the American Legion as well as an avid pilot. After his retirement Mr. Frank became a cattle farmer.
Visitation will be held Friday April 22, 2011 at the Forest Park Church of Christ in Crowley from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services.
Burial will be held in the Indian Bayou United Methodist Cemetery under the direction of Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley.
