Rayne - Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Monday, May 16, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. for Irene Broussard Bergeron, 83 who died Thursday, May 12, 2011 in American Legion Hospital.

Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2, Rayne, LA.

Surviving are husband of 65 years Allen Bergeron, Sr.; daughter, Diane Bergeron of Rayne, two sons, Kenneth L. Bergeron and wife Jane of Lafayette, and Allen Bergeron, Jr. of Rayne, grandchildren, Michelle Toups, Kenny Bergeron, Cindy Cormier, Michael Bennet and Jaimee Bergeron; great-grandchildren Brennan Toups, Conner Toups, Lauren Toups, Mark Stephan Toups, Blaire Cormier, Lindsay Cormier, Callie Cormier, Chance Bergeron, Emily Bergeron and Robert Allen Bergeron, one great-great grandchild, Madeline Hargroder.

She was preceded in death by her parents Nelson and Estella Bertrand Broussard and two sisters Velta Hargave and Eunice Cormier.

She was born Saturday, September 10, 1927 in Kaplan, LA, Daughter of the late Nelson Broussard and the late Estella Bertrand.

Friends will be received 1:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Sunday, May 15 and 8:00 A.M. until Service Monday, May 16, 2011. at Gossen Funeral Home, Inc., Rayne, LA.

The family would like to thank Dr. Leleux, Dr. Aertker, Dr. Vincent and the staff of Southern Care Hospice and Southwind Nursing Home.
