Probe continues into teen alcohol-related crash

Investigation continues into the question of where three Evangeline Parish teenagers got the beer that led to a serious accident in Eunice on Monday night.

A car driven by an allegedly drunk teenager plowed into another, flipping the vehicle and leaving two persons with serious injuries.

According to records the teen driver ran a stop sign at Vine and C.C. Duson about 8 p.m.

Two persons in the other vehicle -- Ashley Bergeron, 17, of Chataignier and Eric Hall, 22, of Eunice -- were hospitalized with apparently serious injuries.

Booked into the City Jail at 4:41 a.m., after returning from the ER, was Sky Taylor Dauzat, 18, 1717 Holly, Pine Prairie.

Dauzat is charged with two counts of first degree vehicular negligent injuring, DWI underage, ran stop sign, purchase & possession of alcohol by person under 21.

Also charged early today were two occupants of her vehicle:

Christopher Dylan Fontenot, 19, 1100 Pine Hill Road, Ville Platte, purchase & possession of alcohol by person under 21;

James Garret Nicks, 19, 118 Amie Lane, Ville Platte, purchase & possession of alcohol by person under 21.

Witnesses allegedly saw one of them tossing beer from a ice chest in the vehicle following the accident.
