Estherwood Elementary School recently received the High Performing/High Poverty School (HPHP) award. Among those present for the award ceremony were, from left, Penny Dastugue (president of the State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education - BESE); Glenny Lee Buquet (secretary-treasurer of BESE); Johnette LeLeux (principal of Estherwood Elementary); Gerald Hardy (Acadia Parish School Board Supervisor of Middle Schools); Margaret Jones (APSB Director of Curriculum); and Steve Jones (APSB Supervisor of Transportation/Maintenance).
