Opelousas pair arrested when the law visits their pot farm, also known as their house

OPELOUSAS – An Opelousas man and woman are charged with a number of offenses after more than 100 marijuana plants were found at a residence here.

The St. Landry Sheriff’s Deputies along with U. S. Marshall’s went to a the house to serve an outstanding arrest warrant for Patrick Batiste. While serving the arrest warrant, the found marijuana and marijuana plants growing inside the residence.

After a search detectives located an incubator with over 100 Marijuana plants, approximately a half ounce of powder Cocaine, and Drug Paraphernalia. Sheriff Bobby Guidroz stated that the approximate street value of total drugs seized is around $100,000.

Lavonna D. Griffin – Cultivation of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance “Marijuana”, Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance “Marijuana”, Possession of “Marijuana”, Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance “Cocaine”, Possession of Schedule II “Cocaine”, Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule V “Amoxicillin”, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
