The bride is the daughter of the late Harry Hollidge, Jr. and Lorraine Hollidge of Fremont, Calif. Her grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hollidge, Sr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Harold Colvin. She is a graduate of Washington High School, Old Dominion University in Virginia, and is employed in property management.
The groom is the son of the late Oday “Thib” Thibodeaux and the late Janell “Nell” Thibodeaux of Branch. His grandparents are the late Foy and Wima Fontenot of Branch and the late Mr. and Mrs. Anatole Thibodeaux of Duson. He is a graduate of Rayne High School, Louisiana State University at Eunice, and is employed in property management.
Providing musical selections for the wedding ceremony was Moe Thibodeaux.
Escorted by her uncle, Dave Fontenot, the bride wore a traditional wedding dress of ivory satin featuring a strapless bodice with lace accents and flowing A-lined, also accentuated with lace. A short-sleeve jacket of sheer lace and accents completed the ensemble. A veil of sheer illuson was provided by Kathryn Arceneaux. She carried a nosegay bouquet of ivory and purple roses with accents of greenery and pearl sprays.
Traditional items selected by the bride for her wedding day included her wedding ring as something old, pearl jewelry was something new, bridal veil as something borrowed, and her garter noted with a miniature horseshoe and sixpence was something blue.
Attending the bride as maid of honor was a long-time friend, Barbara Espinoza.
Bridesmaids were Josette Thibodeaux, sister of the groom; Addison Thibodeaux, niece of the groom; and Brittany Thibodeaux, godchild of the groom.
Bridal attendants each wore a custom made dress of lilac chiffon and carried a nosegay bouquet of purple and pink blooms created by the bride.
Serving as flower girls were Janell and Abigail Thibodeaux, daughters of the couple. Each wore a lavendar dress accented at the waist with a purple sash while carrying an ivory basket filled with purple rose petals.
Attending his brother as best man was Andy Thibodeaux. Groomsmen were Anatole Thibodeaux, cousin of the groom; Nicholas Rollins, nephew of the groom; and Jude Higginbothan, brother-in-law of the groom.
Serving as ring bearer was Peyton Higginbotham, nephew of the groom.
Male attendants each wore a formal black tuxedo noted at the lapel with a purple rosebud boutonniere.
Immediately following the wedding ceremony, the newlyweds were honored during a reception held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Rayne. An ivory and purple floral theme was carried throughout the reception area. Among the decor, a special memorial table was noted to honor deceased family members.
In addition to the refreshments provided was the bride’s cake, a white, three-tier confection topped with a unique miniature bride and groom topper depicting the groom carrying the bride as an alligator climbed up the cake. The cake was served by Katherine Arceneaux, cousin of the groom and friend of the couple.
The groom’s cake featured an outdoorsman theme and was served by Kate Navarre, cousin of the groom and friend of the couple.
Guests attended the wedding from numerous points of Louisiana, in addition to cities of Texas, California and Arizona.
Following a wedding trip to Vermilionville in Lafayette, the couple will reside in Fremont, Calif.
Prior to the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was held Friday, May 27, at Lagneaux’s Seafood in Lafayette. The evening event was hosted by the couple.
