Funeral services were held on June 16, 2011 in the Kerrville Funeral Home in Kerrville, Texas, with Pastor Ray Tear officiating, for Joyce Fontenot Williams, 74, who died there on June 11, 2011.

Interment was in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Kerrville.

Mrs. Williams is survived by her husband, Sammy Williams; a daughter, Michelle Williams; and a son, Sammy Williams, Jr., all of Kerrville.

She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Fontenot of Rayne, where she grew up and graduated from Rayne High School. She attended Hotel Dieu in Beaumont, Texas, where she earned her degree as a registered nurse.

She lived and worked in Port Arthur, Texas, for many years. Upon her retirement, the family moved to Kerrville.

She is survived by two sisters, Lois Petitjean of Rayne and Jeanette Cormier of Denver, Colo.; and a brother, Wallace Fontenot, Jr., of Rayne.

Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Cline Fontenot of Washington, La., Ferdie Fontenot and Winson “Babe” Fontenot of Rayne.
