AMITE – A joint investigation involving the Louisiana Attorney General’s Fugitive Apprehension Unit, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office and the Bay St. Louis Police Department has led to the arrest of a woman accused of committing burglaries and thefts in several Louisiana and Mississippi communities.

The Attorney General’s Fugitive Apprehension Unit and Bay St. Louis Police officers located Tracy Mayo Thursday, July 14, in Bay St. Louis.

Mayo, 37, of Prairieville, was booked into the Hancock County Jail as a fugitive and charged with several violations, including simple burglary, felony theft, forgery, bank fraud, access device fraud, theft of a motor vehicle, identity theft, unauthorized use of an access card, burglary and drug charges. Investigators also recovered two stolen vehicles.

Mayo’s alleged crime spree occurred in the parishes of Ascension, East Baton Rouge, Livingston, Tangipahoa and St. Tammany and in the state of Mississippi.

She is accused of committing several burglaries, using stolen credit cards and identifications, obtaining stolen vehicles, possessing suspected methamphetamine and forging and cashing checks stolen in some of the burglaries.

The crimes are being investigated by the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office, Gonzales Police Department, East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office, Denham Springs Police Department, Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office, Hammond Police Department, St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, Slidell Police Department, Waveland Police Department and Bay St. Louis Police Department.
