Todd and Shelia Hariu of Lafayette are announcing the engagement and approaching nuptials of their daughter, Lana Marie, to Lance Jake Thibodeaux, son of Steven and Mary Thibodeaux of Rayne.

The couple will be joined as husband and wife on August 17, 2011, during a 6 p.m. wedding ceremony at Riviera Maya, Mexico. They will be honored later during a reception at the Woodmen of the World Lodge in Maurice on September 9, 2011, at 7 p.m.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arvis Benoit of Breaux Bridge and Ted Hariu of Lafayette. She is a 2002 graduate of Lafayette High School, attended UL-Lafayette, and is employed by Lofton Veterinary Hospital.

The prospective groom’s grandparents are Merlin and Della Alleman and Julius and JoAnn Thibodeaux, all of Rayne. He is a 1999 graduate of Rayne High School and is employed by S & L Services, LLC.

Following their wedding, the couple plans to make their home in Rayne.
