Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 21, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Duhon Funeral Home in Rayne for Alma D. Romero, 82, who died Monday, July 18, 2011, at Magnolia Nursing Home in Lafayette.

Survivors include her two daughters, Barbara R. Couvillion and Monique Romero, both of Lafayette; her son, Nelson Jr. and his wife, Raeann Romero, of Carencro; two sisters, Bertha Royer of Rayne, and Eula and her husband, Dallas Comeaux, of Rayne; her seven grandchildren, Darin and his wife, Pauline Romero, Rachael and her husband, Wayne LeBlanc, Troy Lavergne, Michelle Lavergne, Mitch Romero, Melissa Romero and Meagan Baker; nine great- grandchildren; and and two great-great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Romero Sr.; her two children, Marjorie Ann and Mitchell Wayne Romero Sr.; her parents, Joseph Amelcar and Zulmae Boudreaux Domingue; her four brothers, Leroy, Lenis, Anthony and Wallace Domingue; and her sister, Antionette Boudreaux.

Visitation was held Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m. and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
