State Police said Tony Thibodeaux, Jr., 23, was riding on La. 111 just south of Hwy. 8 in Vernon Parish when the bike left the road for an unknown reason.
Troopers said he was wearing an approved helmet but had failed to properly secure it on his head and it came off during the crash and ejection.
