MONROE – The first felony non-support case prosecuted under a 2008 law resulted in a conviction in 4th District Court.

Warren Green of Plano, Texas owed about $27,000 in child support payments, which he was ordered to pay as part of his sentence -- two years at hard labor, suspended with five years probation.

It will be a violation of his probation for Green to fail to seek a job, quit his job without cause or be fired due to his fault -- all circumstances which could interrupt support payments.

The court ordered income assignment of one-third Green’s pay until he catches up.
