The Lady Pios opened play with an impressive victory over St. Thomas More before cruising past Ascension Episcopal and Rayne in their final two matches.
Against St. Thomas More, kills by Alaina Savoy, Allison Leonards and Alex Miller sparked a run to an 8-3 lead. Notre Dame maintained that 5-point advantage as the teams traded points until Miller offered two hard to handle serves for a 19-12 lead.
Leonards spiked a winning kill from the left outside to cap a 25-20 Notre Dame win.
In the second match, Ascension Episcopal found openings in the Pios defense to stay close early.
The Pios led 8-6 when Mallorie Chaisson went down to dig a kill attempt off the floor and set Katherine Kirsch for a kill at the net. Kirsch followed with a block for a point and the Pios eased out to a 16-9 lead.
Savoy served two aces to close the match for a 25-12 ND victory.
The Lady Pios were in control from the start against Rayne.
Savoy blocked down a kill at the net, Miller dropped in a winner from the left outside and Savoy dipped in two more aces for a 7-2 Pios lead. Leonards served ND to a 13-6 lead and Megan Malme and Miller had back to back kills as Notre Dame built its lead to 22-9.
Savoy recorded another block kill to get the Pios a point from the win. Malme took a set on the left outside and lobbed a winner over a pair of blockers at the net to secure the 25-9 final.
The Lady Pios will open the regular season on Monday with a home match against Lafayette High. The jayvee squad will take the courth at 4 p.m. with the varsity game to follow.
