NEW IBERIA - Prospective groom, Trent Joseph Hains, has chosen his bride-to-be, Amanda Marie Meche. The couple will exchange vows November 4 in an afternoon ceremony at Rip Van Winkle Gardens in New Iberia. Ms. Barbara Broussard will officiate.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Priscilla Comeaux of Scott and Archie Meche of Mire. Her maternal grandmother is Murmae Duplantis of Scott and her paternal grandparents are Velta Landry of Mire and the late Red Joseph Meche.

The prospective groom is the son of Nolton and Phyllis Guillot Hains of Crowley. Trent is the paternal grandson of Gilbert and Jeanette Faulk Hains of Crowley and he is the maternal grandson of the late Andrus and Grace Broussard Guillot. He graduated in 2008 and is self-employed as a farmer in Ebenezer.

After their wedding, Trent and Amanda plan to reside in Crowley.
