ND Homecoming Court, Events Announced

Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish is celebrating 2011 Homecoming the week (Oct. 3-7) with a number of events and activities being enjoyed by students, faculty and alumni.

The Classes of 1972, 1982, 1992, and 2002 will be honored at the football game on Friday, Oct. 7, at Gardiner Memorial Stadium in Crowley.

In addition to all the events planned in association with ND’s Homecoming Week, Sunday, Oct. 2, was designated “Paint the Town Red” Day with numerous downtown businesses sporting red decor.

The annual Homecoming Parade will be held Thursday, Oct. 6, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Ruddock’s Bakery and ending at the ND school campus, just in time for the annual Pep Rally and 7th Annual Chili Cookoff beginning at 6 p.m. Cooking teams are being sought and no entry fee is needed. Tickets are $5 per person and includes all the chili you can eat.

Louisette N. Broussard, Notre Dame’s Director of Development, asks all alumni to log on to the school’s website www.ndpios.com, click on the alumni link and update information.

Prior to the 7 p.m. Homecoming Game, the annual Alumni Reception will be held at 6 p.m. at the school.

The 2011 Homecoming Court has been announced and will be honored during the week-long celebration. The new queen will be crowned Friday, Oct. 7, during the Pios’ game against Jennings at Gardiner Memorial Stadium in Crowley.

Court members are: Caroline Elizabeth Beslin, daughter of John Jude and Cynthia Beslin of Rayne;

Marianna Lea Charles, daughter of Cyril and Laura Charles of Jennings;

Emma Louise Frank, daughter of Kevin and Kate Frank of Roberts Cove;

Emily Katherine Gielen, daughter of Bryant and Elizabeth Gielen of Crowley;

Simone Catherine Habetz, daughter of Damian and Dinah Habetz of Roberts Cove;

Leah Theresa Hundley, daughter of Jimbo and Cathy Hundley of Mowata;

Lori Elizabeth Lapoint, daughter of Daniel and Sonja Lapoint of Church Point;

Alison Elizabeth Leonards, daughter of Jeff and Debra Leonards of Mowata;

Peyton Alexius Miller, daughter of Pat and Debbie Miller of Crowley;

Kaitlin Louise Prevost, daughter of Mark and Jessica Prevost of Rayne;

Hillary Anne Stelly, daughter of Timmy and Dayna Stelly of Rayne;

Lexus Lea Trosclair, daughter of Benjie Trosclair and Heather Gautreaux of Rayne.

Homecoming Week will conclude on Saturday, Oct. 8, during the annual Homecoming Dance.
