St. Martin Parish - Sunday night, Louisiana State Police Troop I investigated a two-vehicle fatal crash on US 90 east of LA 92. The crash claimed the life of a New Iberia man.

According to investigating troopers, on October 16, 2011, at 7:20 p.m., 45-year-old Hillory Guillory of Lake Charles was driving a 1997 International 18-wheeler.

Guillory had exited a truck stop on US 90, and was crossing the eastbound lanes when he stopped in the median crossover.

Guillory’s trailer was still protruding into the inside eastbound lane when a 2006 Honda motorcycle driven by 35-year-old Jeremy Latiola of New Iberia, struck the trailer. Latiola, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected from the motorcycle.

Latiola was pronounced dead at the scene by the St. Martin Parish Coroner. Guillory was not injured in the crash. Routine toxicology samples were obtained and have been submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis. Guillory was cited for failure to yield. This crash remains under investigation
