CROWLEY – District Attorney Michael Harson announces that John Breaux was sentenced to 40 years at hard labor for attempted aggravated rape of a juvenile.

Breaux was a first time sex offender who pleased guilt to the crime on Feb. 28, 2011 in front of District Court Judge Kristian Earles.

"Our office will continue to protect young children from becoming a victim of these crimes. Furthermore, our office will continue to prosecute these individuals that prey on our children," said Harson.

The investigation was conducted by the Crowley Police Department along with assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigations. Assistant District Attorney Roger P. Hamilton Jr. prosecuted the case from the state of Louisiana.
