Make a raffle purchase now and show your support for Rayne High School sports; in addition, have a good chance of winning one of five great prizes being offered by the Rayne Booster Club.

“We are providing funds directly to each sport, not to the Booster Club,” stated event chairmen Greg Dore and Blake Alleman.

“Whatever raffle tickets are sold per sport, that’s the funds the sport will receive,” Alleman noted. “Dollar for dollar, the sport will receive the funds, not the Booster Club. We’re only sponsoring the event.”

On hand last week to begin ticket sales for the 12 Rayne High sporting teams who will benefit from the raffle were Dore and Alleman who highlighted the event’s top prize, a vacation package donated by Sterling Automotive Group, as announced by Robert Cook, general manager.

The first place winner will have a choice of a Carnival cruise, Las Vegas trip for Cancun Getaway. The prize is valued at $1,000 for a lucky winner.

Second prize is a Coushatta Casino Resort package or four guests valued at $800. The prize package includes two rooms for two nights at the hotel, one round of golf for four guests followed by a delicious meal at Seven Clans Buffet. Complete the two days of fun with dinner at Big Sky Steakhouse for four.

Third prize includes a five-sack crawfish boil donated by John Guidry. Valued at $500, the crawfish will be available on site after Lent.

Rayne High School’s Agriculture Department will provide the fourth place prize, a welded barbecue pit valued at $400.

The Woodmen of the World, Rayne Lodge, will donate a 10x10 canopy for the raffle’s fifth and last prize worth $300.

Drawing for the raffle will be held March 12, 2012, at 7:30 p.m. at The Green Room.

Tickets are only $1 each and can be purchased from any Rayne High athlete, at the school during regular school hours, and at our office at 108 North Adams Ave.
