One person was killed and two injured when a utility truck and an 18-wheeler had a head-on collision on Hwy. 90 west of Mermentau. A woman in a Mercury Sable who was following the 18-wheeler struck the truck from behind and had to extricated. Her injuries were reported as being moderate.

JEFF DAVIS PARISH - A crash on US 90 near LA Hwy 1126 in Jefferson Davis Parish this afternoon killed a Jennings man. Aden L. Greek, 53, crossed the center line and hit an 18-wheeler head-on, according to State Police Sgt. James Anderson. Greek died at the scene, and the driver of the 18-wheeler had minor injuries.

Greek was driving a utility truck that a witness said was traveling at a high rate of speed crossed the center line of Hwy. 90 west of Mermentau and struck an 18-wheeler head on. The utility truck's driver was killed in the violent collision. A woman who was traveling behind the 18-wheeler struck the truck from behind and had to be extricated. She was transported to an area hospital. Her injuries were said to be moderate.
