CROWLEY - Ellen Elizabeth Habetz and Timothy Scott Fussell were united in the sacrament of holy matrimony on Saturday, January 7, 2012, during a 1 p.m. nuptial Mass at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church.

Father Louis J. Richard and Frather Patrick Mowrer con-celebrated the Mass with Fr. Gary Schexnayder, assisted by Deacon Rodless Leleux.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth M. Habetz, Sr. of Crowley. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hargroder and the late Mr. and Mrs. H. Leo Habetz, Sr. Ellen is a 2009 graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond and is currently employed as a pre-kindergarten teacher at Rayne Catholic Elementary.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joel Fussell of Franklinton. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Woodward McCully and the late Mr. and Mrs. Winston Fussell. Timothy is a 1998 graduate of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and is currently employed by PTS Solutions of Baton Rouge as a software implementation specialist.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore an elegant ivory gown with beaded lace appliqués sewn on sheer netting, overlaying crystal satin lining. The fit and flare A-line silhouette gown featured a scalloped trim accent neckline, three quarter length sheer sleeves beautifully detailed with the same beaded lace appliqués and a chapel length train. The bride accented her gown with a double layer chapel length veil elegantly detailed with pearl and crystal beaded lace. She carried a hand-held mixed bouquet of white lisianthus and white roses.

The mother of the bride wore a stylish knee length, champagne colored, two-piece ensemble made of soft taffeta. It featured a pearl and crystal beaded scoop neck dress with a single button front closure jacket that had a spread collar and split, three-quarter length sleeves. The grandmother of the bride wore a beautiful jade suit with a classic strand of cultured pearls. The groom’s mother wore a simple, but elegant, burgundy tea-length dress with three quarter length sleeves. She polished the look off with a lovely silver-gray shawl and Tahitian pearls.

Serving as maid of honor was Chloe Michelle LeLeux, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Mary Elizabeth David, Kelli Broussard Moody, Claire Trahan Ronkartz, friends of the bride, and Meredith Lea Fussell, sister of the groom.

Morgan Elizabeth Hershey, cousin of the bride, served as junior bridesmaid.

Attendants each wore an Alfred Sung floor length, sleeveless gown in navy, silk dupioni featuring a jewel neckline. The pleated skirt included side seam pockets and detailed with a flower belt at the natural waistline. Each carried a hand-held mixed bouquet of blue irises, lavender stock, purple statice and pink roses.

The best man was Eric Allen Hummel, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Ryan Michael Jordan, friend of the groom, Kenneth Michael Habetz Jr., Hans Leo Habetz and Luke Thomas Habetz, brothers of the bride.

Groomsmen were outfitted in navy suits, white shirts and yellow bow-ties with a navy blue fleur-de-lis design.

Scripture readings for the Mass were proclaimed by Gregory F. Reggie, godfather of the bride, and Heidi Zaunbrecher LeLeux, friend of the bride. Prayers of the Faithful were read by Jan Hargroder Herpin, aunt of the bride.

Gift bearers for the offertory were Jennifer Marie Habetz, Cara Marie Hargroder, Jennifer Nicole Herpin and Tracy Herpin Mathews, cousins of the bride. Altar servers for the mass were Benjamin and Andrew Hershey, cousins of the bride.

Grace Bernard, Haley and Annalise Maloz and Julia Patin, cousins of the bride provided programs for the mass and helped distribute farewell handkerchiefs, ribbons and bubbles at the reception.

Music for the ceremony was provided by master pianist and vocalist John Angotti of Memphis, Tenn., accompanied by vocalist Lorraine Hess of Kenner, along with trumpeter Will Green and violinist Tommy Benoit, both of Lafayette.

Following the ceremony, a New Orleans Jazz duo led the wedding party and guests in the traditional “Second Line,” to a reception held at the Grand Opera House of the South. There, guests were entertained with food, fun and music by John Angotti and his Memphis-based band.

Upon returning from their honeymoon trip to the Bahamas, the couple are now residing in Rayne.
