Funeral services are pending for Hershal Henry Beard, 83 who died at 12:05 a.m. Thursday, March 8, 2012 in Crowley.

The Burial will be in the St. Leo Cemetery in Roberts Cove, LA. Visitation may be observed from 3:00 p.m. Friday until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until service time.

Mr. Hershal was born September 17, 1928 in Acadia Parish. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served his country in the United States Army and The United States Navy.

He is survived by his four children Karen Beard Henderson of Shreveport, LA, Diane Beard Stuart of McGehee, AR, Michael Beard of Rayne and Darlene Beard Scarborough of Crowley; a sister Elizabeth Gardiner of Crowley; three brothers Leonard Beard of Crowley, Harold Beard of Lafayette and Jim Beard of McGehee, AR; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Arville and Ernesteen Cart Beard; his wife Sylvia Link Beard and a brother Hillery Beard.
