ACADIA PARISH - Many Acadia Parish residents are waking up to rain and issues thanks to the storm.

A powerful storm cell that was projected to move into the area overnight stalled over the state line, causing many morning issues.

For starters all public and private schools in the parish have been closed tor the day.

The much-anticipated Choices program scheduled at Rayne High today has been moved to noon today. Students are to report to the band room at 10 a.m. per Maxine Trahan.

Secondly, power outages have been reported in the Morse and Gueydan areas.

Drivers are urged to drive with extreme caution as there are down power lines along LA 91 south of Gueydan, a tree across LA 335 near the Perry Bridge and high water near Richard School (370) between Degregory (367) and LA 100 (Shelly), about 0.5 miles west of LA 91.
