Rayne - Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. for Kenneth Jake Abshire, 60, who died Sunday, March 25, 2012 at his residence in Lafayette, LA.

Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2, Rayne, LA.

Surviving are wife, Glenda Simon Abshire of Lafayette, one daughter, Angella Abshire LeBlanc and husband Robert of Scott, one son, Coby James Abshire of Lafayette, three grandchildren, Hannah Hawkins of Scott, Gabbie Hawkins of Scott, Bailey Leon of Rayne.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton Joseph Abshire, Sr. and Iris Duplechin Dogie.

He was born Wednesday, September 1, 1951 in Lake Charles, LA, son of the late Milton Joseph Abshire, Sr. and the late Iris Duplechin Dogie.

A rosary will be recited Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. at Gossen Funeral Home.

Friends will be received at Gossen Funeral Home, Inc., Rayne, LA. Tuesday, March 27, 2012 from 10:30 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30.
