Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2012, in Starlight Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mason T. Jack officiating, for Anthony (BeBe) Gibson, Sr., who died April 10, 2012.

Internment will be in Our Mother of Mercy Cemetery in Rayne.

Visitation will be held at the church from 8 a.m. until time of services.

Anthony (BeBe) Gibson, Sr. was born on April 21, 1937, to the late Curtis Gibson and Viola Young Gibson of Rayne. He married to Arine (Irene) on November 29,1958. Together they shared 53 beautiful years together that was filled with laughter and love. Anthony was a devoted husband and father of six children. Mr. Gibson worked as a caregiver for Rayne Branch Hospital.

Most people would agree that Anthony lived the type of retirement that most would yearn for. He had a love for fishing, hunting and spending time with family. Whenever possible, you could find him on a fish pond or at the camp grounds.

Anthony leaves to cherish his memories his children, Anthony Gibson, Jr. of Richmond, CA., Katrick Gibson of Pleasant Hill, CA, Daniel T. Gibson of Pleasant Hill, Ca., Derek Gibson (Jeanne) of Rayne, Greogry Gibson of Rayne, and Keenan Gibson of Pleasant Hill, CA; his brothers and sisters, Joseph Gibson of Rayne, Ophelia Marie Augustine (Joseph) of Martinez, CA, Evelyn Joyce Roy (Henry) of Beaumont, TX, Myrtle Gibson of Martinez, CA, Aquator Sullivan (Ben) of Richmond, CA, Eva (Suzie) Charles (Ezzie) of Rayne, Larry Gibson (Carol) of Houston, TX, Carl Gibson (Brigid) of Rayne, Charlene Martin of Martinez,CA, Don Gibson (Beth) of Martinez, CA and Kathy Gibson of Martinez, CA; three grandchildren;one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Anthony was preceded in death by his wife, Arine (Irene) Gibson; his parents, Curtis and Viola Gibson; grandparents, Edward Young and Ophelia Mouton Young; twin brothers, Wilford and Wilbert Gibson; father and mother-in-law, Charles and Annie Guidry; five sisters-in-law, Vernal Gibson, Rita Gibson, Onedia Trahan, Mary Lou Washington and Bertha Mae Guidry; and ten brothers-in-law; Lionel, Dallas, Curley, Robert, Ivory, Carlton, Leroy and Leo Guidry; Melvin Trahan and Edward Washington.

Pallbearers will be LeDeria Charles, Terrance Gibson, Gregory Haynes, Chad Gibson, Joshua Gibson and Jason Gibson.

Honorary pallbearers will Jeremy Gibson, Christopher Roy, Romy Gibson, Marquis Gibson, Brain Devon Strauss, Randy Gibson and Wilford “Smokey” Gibson.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Wilturner Funeral Home of Crowley.
