Public Library offers free summer programs for kids

EUNICE - The Eunice Public Library, located at 222 South 2nd Street ,is open and ready for the summer.

The library presents summer performances at the Liberty Theater, located at 200 West Park Avenue, located across the street from the Eunice Public Library.

Additionally, Story Time is held at the Eunice Public Library, as well as the summer reading program.

All summer events for children are free and open to the public.

The following is the schedule of free summer events.

May 30: 10:30 a.m. - Story Time and registration for the summer reading program.

May 31: 10 a.m. - at the Liberty Theater, a performance by Al Simmons.

June 6: 10 a.m. - at the Liberty Theater, a performance Sean Driscoll’s “The Story Ship.”

June 13: 10:30 a.m. - Story Time at the library.

June 20: 10:30 a.m. - Story time at the library.

June 27: 10:30 a.m. - Story Time at the library.

June 29: 10 a.m. - at the Liberty Theater a performance by Roger Day.

July 4: Closed for the holiday.

July 11: 10:30 a.m. - Story Time.

July 14: Last day to register for the summer reading program.

July 18: 10:30 a.m. - Story Time.

July 25: 10:30 a.m. - Story Time.

July 28: Last Day to turn in reading lists.

August 1: 10 a.m. - Summer reading program awards ceremony at the Jean Lafitte Center, located at 250 West Park Avenue.

To reserve books, etc., the library can be reached at 337-457-7120. The hours of operation are Monday: 8 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Tuesday: 9:30 a.m. - 7 p.m., Wednesday: 8 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Thursday and Friday: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Saturday: 9:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.
