Traci Laura Vasseur and Alexander Joseph Brochard exchanged wedding vows during a seven o’clock evening nuptial Mass on Friday, May 25, 2012, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Rayne. Father Clint Trahan served as officiant.

The bride is the daughter of Randal and Gail Judice Vasseur of Rayne. She is the granddaughter of the late Thomas and Jeanne Eura Hebert Vasseur of Rayne and the late Walter and Doris Morvant Judice of Loreauville. A 2001 graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish, she is a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and is employed at the Schumacher Group.

The groom is the son of Brian and Rosanne Lemoine Brochard of Cottonport. He is the grandson of Natalie Bordelon Brochard and the late Richard Brochard, Lois Plauche Lemoine and the late Gilroy Lemoine, all of Cottonport. A 2003 graduate of Bunkie High School, he is a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and is employed by Eustis Engineering.

Guests were escorted to their seats by ushers Cade Armand, cousin of the groom, and Jordan Musso, friend of the groom.

Providing musical selections for the ceremony were vocalist Brittany Saucier, trumpeter Ryan Dufrene and organist Chase Ludeau.

Scriptures were read by Diane Johnson, aunt of the groom, and gifts were offered by Stacy Beaugh, friend of the bride, and Julie Blackwell and Valerie Hines, cousins of the bride.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore an elegant Ivory Jasmine Couture wedding gown featuring a beaded sweetheart neckline with attached sheer capped sleeves. The stunning gown was accentuated with beaded and embroidered appliques on organza over matte satin throughout, including the flared skirt. The elegant floor-length hemline flowed into a Tiffany train. A simple hair comb held a finger-tip veil of sheer illusion to complete her ensemble. She carried a bridal bouquet of yellow and white daisies and yellow lilies gathered with a white ribbon.

Attending her sister as maid of honor was Randee Vasseur.

Bridesmaids were Shelly Constantin, sister of the bride; Jennifer Welch, sister of the groom; Amanda Hensgens, Stacy Miller, Jeanne Arceneaux and Clare Gauthreaux, friends of the bride.

Serving as junior bridesmaid was Madison Terro, godchild of the bride.

Bridal attendants wore strapless, floor-length dresses in a summer yellow with flowering chiffon featuring sweetheart neckline. Each held a handheld bouquet of white daisies.

Flower girls were Kaitlyn Constantin, niece of the bride; Andie Welch, godchild of the groom; and Gracie Hensgens, goldchild of the bride. Each wore a floor-length dress of ivory chiffon while carrying a pomander of ivory roses.

Attending his son as best man was Brian Brochard.

Groomsmen were Jeromie Constantin, brother-in-law of the bride; Lucas Welch, brother-in-law of the groom; Timothy Marchand, Graham McNabb, Jeremy Smith and Adam Gauthier, friends of the groom.

Serving as junior groomsman was Hunter Terro, nephew of the bride.

Ring bearer was Lance Terro, nephew of the bride.

Male attendants wore formal black tuxedos with silver vest and tie, in addition to a single yellow daisy boutonniere.

For her daughter’s wedding, the mother of the bride wore a formal, floor-length dress in a taupe tone topped with a matching embroidered lace jacket. The groom’s mother selected a formal, floor-length dress of navy chiffon. Each was presented a hand-held bouquet of white daisies.

Immediately following the wedding ceremony, a reception was held in honor of the newlyweds at The Warehouse in Rayne.

Among the refreshments provided was the bride’s cake, a four-tier white confection with a variety of fillings accented with a silver ribbon around each tier. The cake was served by Claudette Thibodeaux, the bride’s godmother.

The groom’s cake was a traditional three-layer chocolate confection with kahula and chocolate filling.

Guests registered from numerous points of Acadiana, in addition to New Orleans, Cottonport and New York.

A rehearsal dinner on the evening prior to the wedding was hosted by he groom’s parents at Fezzo’s Restaurant in Scott.

Upon returning from a honeymoon trip to Jamaica, the couple will reside in Lafayette.
