Chemical exec, ice company owner

BATON ROUGE – Services will be Friday for chemical engineer and ice company executive Robert Jeansonne. He died July 2 at age 83.

He was co-owner with his wife of Hernandez Ice Co. and president of Southern Ice Exchange. He was former president and COO of LaRoche Chemicals, former vice president of Kaiser Aluminum and plant manager of Kaiser units in Gramercy and Baton Rouge. He was secretary and treasurer of the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra Board.

Survivors include his wife Sylvia, two sons and a daughter.

Arrangements are by Rabenhorst East.

Long-time educator, principal

ALEXANDRIA – Services for long-time educator and principal Dr. William Connella will be Thursday. He died July 1 at age 76.

He was principal of Mable Brasher Elementary, Pineville, for 22 years and also taught in Vernon, Natchitoches and Plaquemines Parishes and at Northwestern State, LSUA, Louisiana College and Rapides Parish Media Center.

Survivors include his wife Lena and three sons.
