Hillary James Locksey Sr. was born on January 27, 1952, to the late Suluke and Elzina Babineaux Locksey. On June 29, 2012, Hillary James Locksey Sr., at the age of 60, peacefully departed this world by a whisper from his heavenly Father at Opelousas General Hospital. He took his place among the angels to dwell in his eternal home. His spirit is now resting in a better place away from all the pain and suffering of this world. Hillary was well loved by family and friends. Funeral services will also be held on Friday, July 6, 2012 at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Rayne, LA at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church Cemetery in Rayne, LA.

Rev. Fr. Richard Wagner, S.S.J. will officiate at the services. Hillary is survived by his wife, Charlene Locksey, of 25 years, of Church Point, LA, two sons, Hillary (Veronica) Locksey Jr. of Iowa, LA, Gregory (Carlie) Woods, of Lafayette, LA, one daughter, Mashannon Woods of Opelousas, LA, two sisters, Shirley Locksey Francis, and Patricia Jordan both of Rayne, LA. Seven grandchildren, Taylor Locksey of Scott, LA, Malik and Mekhilon Woods, both of Church Point, LA, Malyia Woods, Nylah and Jaden Frank of Opelousas, LA, and Ya'Myree Woods of Lafayette, LA, and a host of nieces and nephews, and a host of great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in eternal rest by his parents, Suluke and Elzina Locksey, one sister, Lorena Locksey Bolden, three brothers, Edward, Joseph, and Phillip Locksey. Visiting hours will be observed from 7 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. July 6, 2012, at Wiltumer Funeral Home in Crowley, LA.
