The bride is the daughter of Glen and Inger Meche of Mire. Her grandparents are Linda and John “Piggy” Arceneaux of Rayne, Leeward and Mary Meche of Mire, and the late Anne Brown. She is a 2007 graduate of Rayne High School and is attending Louisiana Technical College majoring in surgical technology.
The groom is the son of Edward and Janice Ware of Rayne. His grandparents are Peggy Gossen, Jeanne Gossen, the late Robert Gossen, Patricia Ware, and the late Judge George “Bumpy” Ware, all of Rayne. He is a 2003 graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish, 2009 graduate of The University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and is employed by SMS of Shell at the Carencro location as a safety technician.
Karen Broussard provided musical selections for the wedding ceremony. Scriptures were recited by Ticki Faul and Frederick Gossen, Jr. with gifts offered by Edna Meche, Ian Meche and Joseph Ware.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a champagne-toned Oleg Cassini halter-style wedding gown. In addition to an overlay of ivory lace, a champagne-toned sash fastened to the backside with a large bow accentuated with a pearl and crystal broach. A flowing chapel-length train completed the A-lined creation. Her headpiece was a simple, single pearl-edged veil of sheer illusion detailed with a silk ivory rose. She carried a bridal bouquet of red and ivory roses adorned with silver jewels and ivory lace ribbon.
Traditional items selected by the bride for her wedding was her grandmother’s pearls as something old, wedding dress was something new, borrowed was her mother’s pearl ring, and wore a blue-trimmed garter.
Serving as maids of honor were Mariel Meche, bride’s sister, and Whitney Prejean, bride’s friend.
Bridesmaids were Lana H. Thibodeaux, friend; Ellen Melancon, cousin; Ellen Ware, sister-in; Erin Arceneaux, cousin; Farah Thibodeaux and Meghan Hunt, friends; Amanda Hensgens, cousin; Leah Moreau and Whitney Meche, friends.
Bridal attendants wore knee-length dresses of black taffeta in the style of their choice, completed with red pumps while carrying bouquets of red roses and ivory calla lilies designed with black feathers and silver ribbon.
The groom’s godchild, Aizlyn Meche served as flower girl. She wore a black tulle dress with silk red ballet flats while carrying a red rose pomander.
Attending the groom as best men were Nick Ware, his brother, and Douglas Guillot, friend.
Groomsmen were Nick Nero, Flint Meche and Andrew Meche, friends; Jordan Meche, brother-in-law; Jordan Barousse, Jason Keigley, Bennett Guidry and Chris Castille, friends.
Serving as ring bearer was the bride’s godchild, Carter Hicks.
Ushers were Ian Meche, brother of the bride, and Joseph Ware, brother of the groom.
Male attendants wore formal black Ralph Lauren tuxedos with ivory shirts, black vests and red tie. The lapels sported single, red rose boutonnieres.
Immediately following the wedding ceremony, the newlyweds were honored during a reception held at The Warehouse Events Center in Rayne.
Against an elegant evening theme of black, red and silver decor, guests enjoyed refreshments including the bride’s cake, a four-layer white confection of round and square tiers accented with red roses and topped with a silver “W”. The cake was served by Brenda Meche, godmother of the bride.
The groom’s cake was a Reese’s Peanut Butter cake.
Following a wedding trip to Negril, Jamaica, the couple is now residing in Rayne.
Prior to the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was held Wednesday, May 16, at the home of the groom’s parents, hosts for the evening.
