LOUISIANA STATE DUTCH OVEN COOK-OFF
Chemin-A-Haut State Park is partnering with the Bartholomew Dutch Oven Society, in conjunction with the Louisiana Dutch Oven Society, to host the 2012 Louisiana State Dutch Oven Cook-Off on Saturday, Sept. 1, beginning at 9 a.m.
The Louisiana Dutch Oven Society has chosen Chemin-A-Haut State Park, near Bastrop, as the site for the annual state cook-off. Cooking will begin at 9 a.m. with results announced at 3:30 p.m. Teams will submit a bread, a main dish and a dessert. First, second and third place winners will be selected for each category, in addition to overall winners. Entry fee is $30 per team.

The Louisiana Dutch Oven Society has hosted its cook-off previously at Lake D’Arbonne and Lake Claiborne State Parks.
Chemin-A-Haut State Park, located north of Bastrop off La. Highway 425 in Morehouse Parish, has 16 cabins, 26 campsites and a group camp for overnight visitors. The park also features a meeting room, group pavilions, two playgrounds and a swimming pool for guests to enjoy.
