Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2012 from 2:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M., with a rosary being recited at 6:30 P.M. in Duhon Funeral Home, Rayne. Visitation will continue on Friday from 8:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home.
Mr. Broussard passed away on Monday, July 16, 2012 in a Lafayette hospital.
A native and lifelong resident of Lafayette, Mr. Broussard retired as a machinery operator for Lafayette Parish. He was at one time a farmer, growing cotton and corn. Mr. Broussard was also a former race horse owner and trainer. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his daughter, Vickie Bellard and husband, David of Scott; son, Pressley Broussard and wife, Cindy of Lafayette; grandchildren, Nicole Pitre, Jamie Boudreaux, Sean Bellard, and Jake Bellard; step-grandchildren, Ashley McCarty, Jennifer McCarty, and David McCarty; great-grandchildren, Aysia Richard, Ava Pitre, Brody Boudreaux, and Trevor Carter; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Proceeding Mr. Broussard in death were his wife, Dorothy Simon Broussard; parents, Eloi and Onesia Hebert Broussard; sisters, Ella Bourque, Laura Hebert, Beulah Broussard, Pearl Broussard, Elizabeth Duhon, Orelia Hebert, and Claudia Racca; and brothers, Rehul Broussard, Tatule Broussard, and Claudius Broussard.
