Grand jury hands down two indictments on Lavergne

Brandon Scott Lavergne will face two counts of first degree murder after a grand jury handed down the indictments Wednesday afternoon.

Lavergne has been indicted for the first degree murder of Mickey Shunick, for which he was arrested on July 5, and for the first degree murder of Lisa Pate, who was found dead in 1999.

Presenting the state's evidence to the jurors was 15th Judicial District Assistant District Attorney Keith Stutes.

Jurors found enough evidence for Lavergne to be charged in both crimes.
