Graduation set for police cadets

Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office announces the graduation of nineteen police cadets from the Acadiana Law Enforcement Training Academy this Friday July 20, 2012 at 6:00 PM. The ceremony will take place in Wharton Hall Room number 222 which is physically located on ULL Campus at 411 East St Mary Blvd.

Over the course of the past 10 weeks these cadets have received rigorous physical and classroom instruction on topics including;

Louisiana Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, Courtroom testimony, Use of Force, Firearms, Report writing, Crime scene security, Interview and interrogation

The agencies represented in the 139th graduating class of the ALETA Police Training Academy are;

Abbeville Police Department

Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office

Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office

Eunice Police Department

Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office

Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office

Louisiana State University at Alexandria Police Department

Ville Platte Police Department

The cadets will receive their POST (Police Officer Standard Training) Certificates.

The honored commencement speaker for this event will be the Eunice Police Chief Ronald Dies.
