A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 27, 2012, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Crowley for Philip Louis Desormeaux, Sr., 75, who died Monday, July 23, 2012, in Baton Rouge.

Rev. Charles McMillin will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held from Thursday 5 p.m to 9 p.m., and Friday from 8 a.m. to the time of service. Rosary will be led Thursday at 7 p.m.

Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Mr. Desormeaux was born March 17, 1937 in Mermentau, LA.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Hanks Desormeaux; three children, Mary Anne Desormeaux Schoen-Champney and her husband, Steven, of Baton Rouge, Philip Louis Desormeaux, Jr. of Mermentau, and Olivia Caroline Desormeaux of Baton Rouge; four sisters, Margaret Alice Cassisa of Baton Rouge, Lois Yvonne Villarrubia of North Carolina, Anna Belle Pierce of Houston, TX, and Mary Elizabeth Barbier of Mermentau; one brother, Lovic C. Desormeaux, Jr. of Abbeville; and two grandchildren, Steven “Will” Champney, and Mary Catherine Champney.

Mr. Desormeaux was preceded in death by his parents, Lovic C. and Mazie Duhon Desormeaux; and two brothers, Charles B. Desormeaux, and Andre P. Desormeaux.

In lieu of flowers the family request any memorial contributions be made to the Holy Face Society.
