Numerous activities are scheduled to introduce the students to what the campus has to offer by student organizations, the Greeks, university offices, local businesses and community service agencies at this annual event, according to Kedrick Nicholas, director of Holbrook Student Union and Activities.
Scheduled events are as follows:
Tuesday, Aug. 14
Welcome Back Party - 7-10 p.m. in the Quad and Amphitheater
Food, live music, competitions for prizes, novelties and more are sponsored by the
Student Life Coalition, which includes the Student Union Board, Student Government Association, Multicultural Programming and Leadership Programming.
Wednesday, Aug. 15
SGA Knows the Way – 7:30 a.m. at the Freshman Parking Lot (Lot A) next to Cowboy Stadium
SGA members will greet students, distribute water and maps and answer any questions as students walk to classes.
Welcome Back Wednesday - 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Amphitheater
SUB is hosting its Welcome Back Wednesday event, with a live band, food and novelties for all students.
Get Connected Day - 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the New Ranch
Various offices and academic areas will hand out information and answer questions about the services they provide.
Thursday, Aug. 16
SGA Student Organizations Fair/Meet the Greeks - 10 a.m.-1 p. m. in the New Ranch
The SGA will host its annual student organizations fair - there are over 120 recognized student organizations at McNeese. All 15 Greek sororities and fraternities will also be there to hand out information about rush and recruitment.
Friday, Aug. 17
Community Day - 10 a.m.–1 p.m. in the New Ranch
Local businesses and community service agencies will staff booths with freebies and information about their organizations, including part-time employment and internship opportunities.
