BATON ROUGE —A tip from Crime Stoppers has led to the arrest of a Baton Rouge man accused of presenting a fake college degree in order to gain employment as a director of an adult day care facility, announced Attorney General Buddy Caldwell.

The Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit with assistance from the Baton Rouge Constable’s Office arrested 49-year-old Lee Earl Williams, Jr. Tuesday. Williams, whose last known address was 2968 70th Avenue, was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on one count of Medicaid fraud, one count of forgery, and one count of filing and maintaining false public records.

The Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit began investigating Williams based on allegations from the Louisiana Department of Health of Hospitals accusing him of presenting a forged university diploma to his employer. Specific Medicaid Program rules require that adult day care center directors must hold a bachelor’s degree.
