MIll owner, decorated vet

ANGIE – Services for feed mill owner and decorated World War II aviator Nelson Johnson will be Saturday. He died Aug. 15, his birthday, at age 88.

He was a mechanical engineer and retired owner of Johnson’s Feed Mill He completed 30 bombing missions over Germany during World War II and held the Distinguished Flying Cross.

Survivors include his wife Katherine and four children.

Arrangements are by Poole-Ritchie, Bogalusa.

Music educator, Navy Band asst. director

BATON ROUGE – Services for former assistant director of the U.S. Navy Band Robert Johnson will be Friday. He died Aug. 10 at age 90.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, former assistant director of the Navy Band and a music educator for almost 50 years in the East Baton Rouge Parish school system.

Survivors include a son and three daughters.

Arrangements are by Davis & Son.
