The catch was that the Vermilion Parish Task Force had done surveillance on the suspects, knowing that upon the attempt to apprehend them, the likelihood of them fleeing was high.
Upon approaching the suspects, agents scattered into multiple sites, knowing the planned escape route of the suspected dealers.
True to form, as other agents approached the suspects, they began to flee - to the exact location agents had picked up on, which was a small hole in a wooden fence.
As the suspects crawled through the hole in a hurried fashion, they were met by other narcotics agents on the opposite side.
One suspect was so startled; he threw the suspect narcotics in the general area of the agents. After being told to stop, another, Gregory Bessard, 18, of Abbeville, attempted to flee again.
An agent deployed his Taser, rendering Bessard incapacitated. The other two suspects then surrendered.
