For starters, all Acadia Parish public schools will be closed Wednesday and will look to reopen Thursday.
“We feel that with winds around 40 mph tomorrow morning between 6 and 7 a.m., it will not be conducive for bus transportation,” said Superintendent John Bourque. “Thursday the weather will be a lot better and we will reopen then.”
Joining them in closing are the parish’s private schools–Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish, Northside Christian School, St. Michael School and Redemptorist Catholic School, all of Crowley, and St. Francis School of Iota.
Waste pickup will be suspended Wednesday, putting the parish one day behind in its trash collection (Wednesday’s route will be picked up Thursday and so forth).
Crowley City Court and Acadia Parish Courthouse will be closed.
The Acadia Parish Library will also be closed tomorrow due to Hurricane Isaac.
The Acadia Parish Police Jury will be closed.
Crowley City Hall will remain open Wednesday.
As of press time no road closures have been reported, but the Department of Transportation and Development reminds Louisiana residents that it can access up-to-date road conditions via its 511 hotline.
