Questions surround Vermilion Parish death

VERMILION PARISH – In Vermilion Parish, residents have spent the better part of the last two days preparing for Hurricane Isaac's landfall.

Now they must spend time mourning.

According to Sheriff Michael Couvillon, an individual, whose name has not been released at this time in order to notify the next of kin, had gone to a residence with to other friends to remove a vehicle from under a tree to prepare for Isaac.

For unknown reasons, the individual climbed the tree and fell approximately 18 feet.

Sheriff Couvillon says that this is a very unfortunate death, which ultimately ended in tragedy.
