ALEXANDRIA – Services for former medical director of Louisiana State Penitentiary Dr. Kenneth Perego will be Saturday. He died Aug. 27.
He was a veteran of the Korean War. He was also former medical director of W.O. Moss Regional Hospital, Huey P. Long Memorial Hospital, and Byrd Regional Medical Center. While Angola medical director, he was instrumental in changing Louisiana’s method of capital punishment to lethal injection.
Survivors include four sons and a daughter.
Arrangements are by Hixson Brothers, Pineville.
Foster Grandparent director
PINEVILLE – Services for former director of the Foster Grandparent Program at Pinecrest State School, Richard Graalmann, will be Friday. He died Aug. 27 at age 79.
He was with Pinecrest 20 years. After retirement, he was president of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program in Rapides Parish.
His wife, Nancy, died Aug. 24. Survivors include a son and a daughter.
Arrangements are by Kramer Funerals.
