A complaint of an armed robbery in the grassy area next to Leroy’s Barber Shop at 1410 Lake Palourde Road in Amelia was received at about 1 p.m. Tuesday.
Alligator season east of the Atchafalaya River opened last Wednesday, and the victims were completing work from a day of buying alligators at the site when a dark gray four-door car pulled up.
The car, which may possibly be a Toyota Camry, was driven by a black male. A second black male was seated on the passenger side, and a white male was seated in the back of the vehicle.
The two passengers got out of the car and ordered the victims to get on the ground. The black male had a dark colored gun in his hand. He was dressed in blue jeans and a hat and had a blue bandana over his face. The white male suspect was also wearing blue jeans and a blue bandana.
The suspects stole a briefcase containing more than $6,500 in cash and two cell phones from the victims. The suspects then drove away down the driveway behind the barber shop and onto Lake Palourde Road in an unknown direction.
The victims were unharmed.
