Mrs. Joshua Kyle Conner
Jordan, who is from Crowley, is the daughter of Jimmy and Lynne Broussard. She is the granddaughter of Rose L. Millet of Crowley and the late Warren “Sonny” Millet; and the late Allen and Gayle Trahan Broussard.
The bride graduated from Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish in 2011. She subsequently attended Acadian Technical College in Crowley and is a certified nursing assistant. She presently works at Lowe’s in Crowley and will soon be employed at First National Bank.
The groom, also from Crowley, is the son of Timothy “Tim” and Paula Trahan Conner. His grandparents are Rebecca “Becky” Trahan and the late Hillyan “Shorty” Trahan; and the late Alcee and Rosa Belle Conner.
Joshua is a 2010 graduate of Crowley High School and he later studied drafting at Acadian Technical College in Crowley. He is currently employed by Capitol Manufacturing in Crowley.
Guests were ushered to their seats by Olin Conner and Hayden Henry, cousins of the groom; Stefan Moeller, friend of the couple; and Seth Humble, cousin of the bride.
Musical selections for the Mass were performed by Organist and Pianist Susan Comeaux, Pianist Ryan Millet, Trumpeter Will Green and Vocalists Angie McBride, Darrell Lejeune and Ben Stringfellow.
Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride was beautiful and radiant in a delicate ivory chiffon gown designed by Mori Lee. The strapless, fitted bodice featured diagonally crossed ruching that formed a sweetheart neckline. Embellished with pearl and crystal beads, it ended in a natural waist from which the long chiffon skirt flowed. The back of the gown was designed with a button-backed corset and flowed into a chapel-length train.
For her headpiece, Jordan selected a matching two-tiered chapel-length veil of ivory chiffon with scalloped edges. Trimmed with embroidered lace, the gossamer veil was embellished with pearl beading and crystals.
The bride carried a hand-held bouquet of white Gerber daisies and pink roses intertwined with her great-grandmother’s rosary, which Patti Simon had blessed by Pope Benedict XVI.
In keeping with tradition, Jordan carried or wore the items believed to bring good luck to a marriage. Her great-grandmother’s rosary was “something old.” Her wedding dress, veil and shoes were “something new;” earrings loaned to her by her sister were “something borrowed;” and the date of her wedding, stitched into her wedding dress with blue thread, was “something blue.”
The bride’s sister, Megan Claire Broussard, attended the bride as maid of honor.
Morgan Kathryn Moeller, friend of the bride; Nicole Habetz, friend of the groom; Taylor Roy, cousin of the groom; and Lainie Conner, sister of the groom, served as bridesmaids.
The bridal attendants wore royal blue chiffon and charmeuse gowns with rounded necklines and beaded embellishments.
They carried handheld bouquets of coral Gerber daisies.
Two of the grooms’ cousins, Ava Bergeaux and Lillian Conner, served as flower girls.
Jeffery Trahan, Jr., friend of the groom, acted as best man.
Standing as groomsmen were Dylan Lanthier, friend of the groom; Blaine Lormand, cousin of the bride; Joe Conner, cousin of the groom; and Zan Conner, brother of the groom.
Luke Trahan, godchild of the groom, and Andre Bergeaux, cousin of the groom, were ring bearers.
For Jordan’s special day, her mother, the former Lynne Millet, selected a full-length Adrianna Papell gown in iridescent navy blue chiffon. The surplice bodice and defined waistline were softened by the gown’s layered flutter sleeves. The long skirt’s elegantly cascading scalloped tiers echoed the flutter sleeves, perfectly completing the look of the dress.
The mother of the groom, the former Paula Trahan, wore an elegant A-line dress in charoal gray charmeuse. The cascading side- wrap bodice, gathered at the side with a jeweled detail, flowed gracefully across the dress and down its side.
Both mothers wore corsages of white sweetheart roses with iridescent trim.
Selected Scriptures were read by Tommy Millett, godfather of the bride, and Lonnie Conner, godfather of the groom.
Chelsea Millet and Carlie Lormand, cousins of the bride, along with Logan Frederick, a friend of the couple, presented offertory gifts.
Immediately following the ceremony, a reception honoring the newlywed couple was held at the International Rice Festival Building in Crowley.
The entryway to the reception was lined with large green plants. The guest tables were decorated with varying vases of gladioli, roses and Gerber daisies. Special rose-scented pillar candles made for the bride in honor of her middle name also topped the tables.
The walls were decorated with tulle and tiny white lights. Broad swaths of tulle hung from the corners and joined in the center of the ceiling to form a base for a hanging floral ball.
The bride’s cake featured three square tiers decorated with white icing and scroll work. A royal blue ribbon separated the tiers, each of which represented something special to the couple. The date of the wedding was inscribed on all four sides of the bottom tier, the middle tier bore the couple’s initials and the top tier was adorned with a silver and rhinestone “C.” The cake stood before a backdrop surrounded by ferns and columns and was served by the bride’s godmother, Gayle Lormand.
The groom’s cake was a replica of his late grandfather Conner’s orange Coleman ice chest filled with sac-a-lait. The cake was filled with raspberry and Bavarian cream, and was served by the groom’s godmother, Stephanie Dartez.
Out-of-town guests travelled from Alabama, Kentucky, Texas and various points throughout Louisiana.
On the Thursday evening prior to the wedding, Dean and Alecia Bergeaux, along with the groom’s parents, hosted a rehearsal dinner in Mowata where guests enjoyed crawfish etoufee and sides.
Following a wedding trip to an undisclosed location, Jordan and Joshua will reside in Ebenezer.
