First annual Project Pink 5K run/walk to be held on Oct. 7

Details for the first annual Project Pink 5K run/walk have been announced by race director Heather Thibodeaux.

The event to benefit breast cancer awareness will be held Sunday, Oct. 7, at 8 a.m. at The Depot Square.

Participants can register by mail or after 7 a.m. on race day. The entry fee is $25.Race day packets will be distributed at 7:30 a.m.

Mail the entry fee, along with name, address, phone, age division and shirt size to Project Pink 5k Run,138 Ancelet Lane, Rayne, La 70578.

Age group for men and women will be:13 and under, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over.

All pre-registered participants are guaranteed a Project Pink 5K t-shirt. Those participants registering race day will be given a t-shirt on a first- come-first-serve basis. Should t-shirts run out, participants may pick up their shirts at Bayou Silk Screening after October 23, 2012.
