Rayne Chief of Police Carroll Stelly announced Friday his department has arrested two violent offenders in the deadly shooting of Alfor Wheeler on Tuesday, September 25, which occurred on the 700 block of Reynolds Street around 9:30 p.m. Wheeler died from gunshot wounds.

Rayne detectives gathered evidence and interviewed witnesses to the crime and developed two suspects.

The first suspect was arrested in Church Point with the assistance of the Church Point Police Department. Terrell Tmichael Lyons, B/M, Dob 11/5/1992, 3426 Lauren Street, New Orleans, was charged with Second-Degree Murder. Bond on Lyons was set at $250,000.

The second suspect was arrested with the assistance of the U.S. Marshal’s Office, Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Church Point Police Department. Rayne detectives arrested Quincy Raheem Markee Mouton, B/M, Dob 2/2/1993, 686 A North Wilson Street Church Point.Mouton was charged with Second-Degree Murder. His bond was set at $250,000. Mouton was also charged with one count of attempted Second-Degree Murder and bond on that charge was set at $50,000.

Both suspects are incarcerated in the Acadia Parish Jail. The investigation is continuing at this time.
