Two arrested in Rayne murder

RAYNE – Two arrests have been made by the Rayne Police in the deadly September 25, 2012 shooting in the city.

The incident occurred in the 700 block of Reynolds Street around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday evening leaving Alfor Wheeler dead from gunshot wounds.

Detectives with the Rayne Police Department gathered evidence and interviewed witnesses to the crime and developed two suspects, which were both arrested with the help of other agencies.

The first suspect was arrested in Church Point with the assistance of the Church Point Police Department. Terrell Tmichael Lyons, 19, of New Orleans was charged with second-degree murder. Bond was set on Lyons at $250,000.

With the assistance of the U.S. Marshall's Office, Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office and the Church Point Police Department, Rayne detectives arrested Quincy Raheem Markee Mouton, 20, of Church Point. Mouton was also charged with second-degree murder and bond was set at $250,000. He was also charged with one count of attempted second-degree murder and bond on that charge was set at $50,000.
